LAITY

"Now the company of those who believed were one heart and soul".  Acts 4:32

O blissful Maiden Mother of God, so loved in England and Wales of old and again so loved today; sinful we come to thee who art sinless, poor to thee who art rich, weak to thee who art strong. O pitiful Maiden Mother, teach us, thy children, better to know and love thy Dear Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ; for his sweet sake to love and comfort one another, to be sorry for our sins, to hunger and thirst after justice. O sorrowful Maiden Mother of God, by the memory of the Five Wounds of Our Crucified Saviour, pray to Him for mercy on our country which was and is thy Dowry, that we may all, under the Successor of the Blessed Peter, be gathered into the One Fold of the One Shepherd, so to be happy with Him and with thee now upon earth and afterwards for ever in our true heavenly home. Amen

Jesus, Convert England.  Jesus, Have Mercy On This Country.

O Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God and our most gentle Queen and Mother, look down in mercy upon England, Thy Dowry, and upon all of us who greatly hope and trust in Thee.  By Thee it was that Jesus, our Saviour and our hope was given unto the world; and He has given Thee to us that we might hope still more.  Plead for us Thy children whom Thou did receive and accept at the foot of the Cross O sorrowful Mother.  Intercede for our separated brethren, that with us in the one true fold we may all be united under the chief shepherd of Christ's flock, and that by faith and fruitful in good works we may all deserve to see and praise God together with Thee, in our heavenly home.  Amen.

O Almighty God, Who in Thine infinite goodness has sent Thine only-begotten Son into this world to open once more the gates of heaven, and to teach us how to know, love and serve Thee, have mercy on Thy people Who dwell in Wales. Grant to them the precious gift of faith, and unite them in the one true Church founded by Thy Divine Son; that, acknowledging her authority and obeying her voice, they may serve Thee, love Thee, and worship Thee as Thou desirest in this world, and obtain for themselves everlasting happiness in the world to come. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
