Let us pray for our future Pope
On 7 May , Cardinals from around the World will gather in Conclave, to elect the new successor of St. Peter. But before white smoke rises above Rome, we are all called to stand united in prayer—fervently asking the Holy Spirit to guide their discernment.
We are living through a time of great upheaval: wars, division, a crisis of faith, and a loss of moral compass. In the midst of this troubled world, the Church is more than ever called to bring the light of the Gospel to wounded and anxious hearts. And for that mission, she needs a shepherd who is strong, humble, and entirely filled with the Holy Spirit!
That’s why we invite you to join a Novena to the Holy Spirit, from 30 April to 8 May, to accompany this decisive moment with faith and hope. May the Holy Spirit blow mightily over the Conclave—guiding, enlightening, and strengthening those entrusted with the immense responsibility, of choosing the one who will lead the Church through the challenges of our time.

During the Ordinary Jubilee of 2025, all the faithful, who are truly repentant, and free from any affection for sin, who are moved by a spirit of charity and who, during the Holy Year, purified through the sacrament of penance, and refreshed by Holy Communion, pray for the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff, will be able to obtain from the treasury of the Church a plenary indulgence, with remission and forgiveness of all their sins, which can be applied in suffrage to the souls in Purgatory in the following ways:
The faithful, Pilgrims of Hope, will be able to obtain the Jubilee Indulgence, granted by the Holy Father, if they undertake a pious pilgrimage: by visiting the Cathedral or other church (Our Lady of Lincoln) or sacred place designated by the local Ordinary (Bishop Patrick).
Diocesan Jubilee Prayer
God our Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our Saviour,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
awaken in us this Jubilee Year a missionary heart
for the coming of your Kingdom.
May the gift of your grace
transform us, Pilgrims of Hope,
into your missionary disciples,
blessed with the gifts and talents you give us.
Strengthen us to share our Saviour’s message
of love, joy, and peace
with all the people we meet this year,
so that we may help build up your Kingdom on earth.
To you our God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
be glory and praise for ever and ever. Amen.
